‘I stand by his side’ – Alexander Zverev backed by brother Mischa over allegations

Alexander Zverev has been backed by his brother Mischa following potentially damaging allegations about his personal life.

One of Alexander Zverev’s former girlfriends has been making serious allegations of his treatment of her in the press, telling Racquet Magazine that he was violent towards her.

He has strenuously denied those allegations, more than once, and has now also received the public backing of his family.

“Life is surprising sometimes,” Mischa Zverev, the world 261, told Sky. “We have to deal with some things now.

“We try to stick together as a family and to find the right solution. I just try to be the bigger brother and stand by his side.”

Alexander Zverev himself once again came out defiantly after his Paris Masters final, insisting he is ‘still smiling beneath his mask.’

“I know that right now there are a lot of people who will be trying to wipe a smile off my face, but I’m still smiling under this mask,” he said.

“Everything’s great on the court and off the court. Everything is great in my life, I’m going to be a father soon.

“Those who are trying (to wipe a smile off his face) can keep trying but I’m still smiling, you just can’t see under the mask.”
