Novak Djokovic says Jannik Sinner has 'all the guns' to reach the top in tennis ahead of their mouth-watering Monte-Carlo clash.
Sinner's powerful baseline game and precision has seen him likened to world number one Djokovic, although they have never played a competitive match against each other yet.
It comes after Sinner impressed by reaching the final of Miami - his first Masters-level final - before losing out on the title to Hurbert Hurkacz.
Djokovic, though, like everyone else, has been immensely impressed with what he has seen.
“Great tournament for the young guys," Djokovic told the media in Monte-Carlo when asked for this thoughts on Miami.
"Both Sinner and Hurkacz played a fantastic tournament. They beat some big names on the road to the finals.
"Jannik Sinner has been so consistent for the last year and a half. If he's not the leader, he’s definitely one of the leaders of the next-generation coming up.
“He’s got all the guns in his game that he needs to be a challenger for the greatest titles in the sport.
"He’s playing equally well on clay and hard court and other surfaces, so that’s great to see.
"He’s very mature with the way he plays and behaves on the court.”
