'Playing a Grand Slam right now is a privilege' - Naomi Osaka wins second Australian Open title

Naomi Osaka celebrates

Naomi Osaka has claimed a fourth Grand Slam title after easing past Jennifer Brady at the Australian Open.

Osaka has won all of her Grand Slam titles on hardcourts, and Brady was able to match her for much of the opening set before collapsing in her final service game.

That break seemed to affect Brady mentally, and she started the second set poorly, with Osaka able to ruthlessly take advantage.

The American did get her fight back towards the end of the set, but by then it was too late with Osaka's hold on the match too strong, with it finishing 6-4, 6-3 in favour of the Japanese star.

"Jennifer, I want to congratulate you," Osaka said after the match.

"After we'd played at the US Open I told everyone you'd be a problem, and I was right. To see your growth over the last few months is really cool.

"And to your team - my team is like my family so I'm sure you and your team have a lot of cool adventures together too.

"I for sure know that your mom and friends and family are very proud of you. I know we're going to play a lot more matches.

"I really want to thank my team - this one is for you.

"Lastly but not least, thank you to you guys. Thank you for coming and watching. To have this energy really means a lot. Thank you so much.

"Thank you for opening your hearts and arms towards us. I feel like playing a Grand Slam right now is a privilege, and thank you for this opportunity."
