Nick Kyrgios has been branded 'a bully with an evil side' by Stefanos Tsitsipas as he pleaded with the ATP to take action against the Australian.

Tsitsipas and Kyrgios were embroiled in a drama-filled match at Wimbledon on Saturday which was rich in quality, but it was the sheer drama that made the headlines.

There was a constant battle between the players, with Kyrgios punished for swearing and Tsitsipas for ball abuse.

At one point, Kyrgios was urging match officials to default Tsitsipas for hitting a ball into a crowd at the end of the second set.

Eventually, after four sets, it was Kyrgios who won it and went into the fourth round. However, Tsitsipas was left fuming and the war of words is likely to rumble on for some time.

"This needs to stop," Tsitsipas raged in his post-match press conference.. "Someone needs to sit down and talk with him. I don't know what to say.

"I'm not used to playing this way but I cannot just sit there and act like a robot. It starts to get to your nerves. You are out there doing your job and you have noise coming from the other side of the court for no reason.

"It's constant bullying. He bullies his opponents. He was probably a bully at school.

“He has some good traits and character as well.

“But he also has a very evil side to him, which if it’s exposed can do a lot of harm and bad.”

Nick Kyrgios is now looking like a favourite to go to the semi-finals of the tournament at least, with American Brendon Nakashima his next opponent.
