“Probably why he got destroyed” – Nick Kyrgios mocks young tennis star after Nadal defeat

Nick Kyrgios has had his say on why youngster Sebastian Korda suffered defeat against his childhood idol Rafael Nadal in the fourth round of the French Open.

Korda, the son of former Grand Slam winner Petr, had declared his fandom of Nadal before the game with the admission he’d even named his cat after the Spaniard.

And it was clear that the 20 year old was star-struck facing his hero at Roland Garros, going down in straight sets 6-1, 6-1, 6-2.

After the match he asked Nadal to autograph his shirt and shared the image on social media.

“It was definitely the best moment of my life, super awesome,” Korda said.

“After the match I asked him for a signed shirt when we were tapping rackets. I don’t know if anyone’s ever asked him for an autograph after a match, but that was definitely the coolest moment of my life and one I’ll never forget for sure.”

In typical Kyrgios style, he replied to the tweet with his own unique tone to say that it was “probably why he got destroyed”.
