Novak Djokovic says him joining an already star-studded Team Europe for the Laver Cup this year is 'a possibility.'
Djokovic has only played in one edition of the Laver Cup before - in Chicago in 2018.
Although it always attracts the top stars, the big four of Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray have never been on the same team.
Djokovic is the only one of the four still to commit to this year's event, but he says talks are ongoing.
“It would be very unique,” Djokovic said. “It is a possibility.
"My agent has communication with the Laver Cup team. We have an agreement that there will be a decision after Wimbledon is finished.
“Laver Cup is the only competition where you can have all the big rivals, the big three, big four players joining in the same team.
The 2022 tournament will be held at the O2 Arena in London at the end of September.
It is a venue well-known to the top ATP stars with it being the former home of the Tour Finals, and Djokovic admits the Laver Cup being held there this year gives it some extra gravitas.
“It is a very different and exciting concept for us players, but also for the fans around the world," Djokovic said.
"The O2 Arena is a familiar venue for me and for us players. We’ve been playing for more than 10 years the World Tour Finals in that arena.
“I think the tradition here in Britain for tennis has contributed to a very successful event over the course of more than 10 years. So, of course, it would be a pleasure to play there again.”
