Novak Djokovic is the 'least materialistic man you could ever meet' according to compatriot Janko Tipsarevic.
Djokovic has been at the top of men's tennis for longer than anyone else in history, and he is also closing in on the record for the most Grand Slam titles too.
He is also very politically active, though, and has been a leader in trying to improve the position of players on the ATP Tour by forming the PTPA and championing a more equitable distribution of wealth among the players.
Among many in the ATP, that has created hostility towards the Serbian, but Tipsarevic says anything Djokovic is doing is borne of a desire to help others.
“Novak is incredibly humble off the court,” Tipsarevic told the Double Bagel Podcast.
“He is probably the least materialistic person that you would ever meet. Like when you normally create generational wealth, people like this tend to change.
"Novak, from the moment that I know him up until this point, didn’t change one single bit in any way.”
“[He is] definitely the least materialistic person that I know. A guy with a big heart who is always trying to help everybody, especially Serbia and his teammates.”
