'Rafael Nadal is exceptional - there is no limit to him,’ says former world number four

Rafael Nadal celebrating

Former world number four Nicolas Kiefer says there is 'no limit' to Rafael Nadal as he fully expects him to win his 21st Grand Slam next season.

Nadal drew level with Roger Federer at the top of the career Grand Slam titles charts when he beat Novak Djokovic in the French Open final last week.

Djokovic himself is also in the hunt for history with 17 major titles to his name, but Kiefer is betting on Nadal to keep adding to his total too.

"There is simply no getting around him in Paris," Kiefer said of Nadal.

"His 13th title at Roland Garros, his 20th Grand Slam title overall, drawn level with Roger Federer. Rafael Nadal is simply an exceptional athlete

"Of course, the weather conditions were completely different this year.

"In May, it is warmer, the balls jump higher, the game is much faster. Now it was wet and cold.

"But Rafael Nadal was able to adapt well to this and won all of his matches with ease. He has once again proven to the world that he is simply unrivalled on clay.

"There is no limit to him. Just like for Roger, who will play the Australian Open again next year and prefers the fast courts. And the next French Open is only half a year away.

"At the moment everything points to it: Nadal will win his 21st title in Paris in 2021."

Nadal is yet to confirm whether he will play again this season or rest and prepare for 2021 instead.
