Pat Cash: 'How can Roger Federer be the best in history when he's not the best in his era?'

Wimbledon icon Pat Cash says Novak Djokovic is 'clearly' the best player of the big three, meaning Roger Federer cannot be the GOAT. 

Debate rages in tennis over which of the modern big three of Federer, Djokovic, and Rafael Nadal will ultimately be remembered as the best player to ever pick up a racket.

Federer and Nadal currently lead the Grand Slam count, but Djokovic has multiple other records already and it on the verge of surpassing Federer net year for the most weeks spent at world number one too.

Cash, though, says that although he agrees with many that Djokovic may not be their favourite player to watch, he is the best player in the world.

"If I have to choose who I like to watch the most, I say Federer, then Nadal," Cash said.

"But if I have to choose the best player, it's Djokovic, that's clear. He's a monster. He can beat them on their best surfaces.

"A lot of people say Federer is the best player ever, but he's the second of his time.

"It's hard to be the best in history if you're not in your era?"
